Helicopter Simulation Made Easy

Turkish Company Aerotim Getting Ready for New Flight Model of 5-Bladed Airbus H145 Helicopter

Ankara-based Aerotim Engineering (Aerotim), provider of aerodynamic flight models for Level D flight simulators for Airbus H145 helicopters, has started work on the new 5-bladed version of the H145 simulator. Aerotim will update its aerodynamic flight models in line with the changes in the 5-bladed H145 and Level D certification requirements, before delivering them to customers. The flight models, used in simulators worldwide, include also the Helionix autopilot, Arriel 2E engine and engine control system (FADEC) models.

Airbus recently announced that the new, 5-bladed model of the H145 helicopter had been certified by EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) on June 19. The new model is expected to be delivered to its first customer towards the end of this summer. Aerotim is working on updates to the aerodynamic flight models in line with this schedule.

Aerotim Founder and CEO Dr. İlkay Yavrucuk emphasized that the company is ready to prove once again, through their work on updates for the new model, their reliability as a solution partner to simulator developers:  “Acting quickly and creating solutions compatible with the new model through such model updates provides a simulator with a significant competitive advantage. We are working with this objective in mind. We shall be updating our indigenous aerodynamic flight model libraries developed for the H145 helicopter to take into account the new 5-bladed version, and make sure these updates can be used for Level D certification. As such, the hundreds of pilots that undergo training with the simulators, which run our model, every year will continue to have access to the best simulators in the world.” Dr. Yavrucuk said their work would reinforce Aerotim’s position among Turkey’s leading service exporters: “The simulators to which we provide aerodynamic flight models are successfully operating in European Countries, as well as in Turkey. The attention our products receive worldwide is what makes us special among Turkey’s service exporters. Recently, in December 2019, we were ranked among the top three companies in the ‘Engineering, Architectural, Scientific and Other Technical Services’ category of the Services Exporters’ Association. We aim to make further achievements in exports with the support we provide to the products we deliver.”
